Tamil Iqbal played a captain's knock as Fortune Barishal defeated Durbar Rajshahi by seven wickets in the 10th match of Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Monday, January 6. (More Cricket News)

Tamim scored an unbeaten 86 off 48 balls in Barishal's successful chase of a 169-run target, which they achieved in 17.3 overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi had earlier produced figures of 2-20 in four overs for the victors.

Defending champions Fortune Barishal are seeking a second title on the bounce. This season also marks a notable absence, as Comilla Victorians, the most successful team in the Bangladesh T20 League with four titles, is not participating.

In the earlier match of the day, Rangpur Riders beat Sylhet Strikers by eight wickets. The Riders chased down a 206-run target in 19 overs, in what turned out to be a high-scoring encounter.
